Who is responsible

What I collect

When you use an enquiry or feedback form, I collect the details you choose to provide, such as your name, business, email address, country and the requirement or feedback you describe. The website host may also process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site. Please do not put highly confidential documents, passwords, trade secrets or sensitive personal information into an initial form.

Why I use it

I use your information to read and respond to your message, research a potential commercial fit, discuss a possible engagement and keep a record of the conversation. For ordinary business enquiries this is generally based on Acorn’s legitimate interest in responding and running the business, or taking steps you request before a contract. If you give permission to approach potential suppliers, I record that choice; I will discuss the scope before sharing a buyer’s identity or sensitive detail.

Who may see it

Ian handles enquiries for Acorn. The website hosting and storage provider processes form data on Acorn’s behalf. I will not sell your details or add you to a marketing list because you sent an enquiry. If an introduction becomes appropriate, I will discuss what can be shared with the other business first. Information may also be disclosed where the law requires it.

How long I keep it

I review enquiry records at least annually and remove them when they are no longer needed for the enquiry or a continuing commercial relationship. Some records may need to be kept longer where there is a legal or accounting reason.

Your choices and rights

You can ask what information Acorn holds about you and ask for correction or deletion where applicable. You can also object to processing in some circumstances. Email ianhendrick86@googlemail.com. You can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office if you are unhappy with how your information is handled.
